Del Rio is a city of about 35,000 people in Val Verde County, on the Texas-Mexico border along the Rio Grande. It is a border town shaped by decades of cross-border trade, family ties to Ciudad Acuna, Mexico, and the military community around Laughlin Air Force Base. The housing stock reflects that history - older single-story ranch homes near the center of the city, newer subdivisions on the outskirts, and a mix of owner-occupied and rental properties that spans the whole spectrum. About 57 percent of Del Rio residents own their home, a solid majority that translates into real demand for home improvement and maintenance work.
Lake Amistad, the large reservoir just northwest of town, is one of the defining features of the area - known regionally for fishing and water recreation, and familiar to nearly every Del Rio resident. The lake adds a layer of humidity to the local climate that desert-dry stretches elsewhere in the region do not have. That moisture, combined with the extreme summer heat, is one reason proper crawl space insulation and vapor control matter more here than in some neighboring communities. We serve Del Rio and also cover Brackettville and the smaller communities throughout Val Verde County.
