Carrizo Springs is the county seat of Dimmit County, located in deep South Texas about 65 miles southwest of Eagle Pass. The city of roughly 5,000 to 6,000 residents is the main commercial and government hub for a large, thinly populated county dominated by ranch land and brush country. The historic Dimmit County Courthouse anchors the small downtown core, and residential neighborhoods spread out from the center with a mix of older stucco and masonry homes built across several decades. The Eagle Ford Shale formation runs under the county, and the energy industry has shaped the local economy for years - bringing both growth and the boom-bust cycles that come with oil and gas work.
Most homes in Carrizo Springs are single-family detached houses, many sitting on larger lots than you would find in a suburban setting. Stucco and concrete block exteriors are common throughout the city, reflecting the building traditions of deep South Texas and the practical need for materials that hold up in extreme heat. Outside the city limits, Dimmit County residents live on rural acreage and ranch properties where the commute into town can be significant. We regularly work in both settings. Homeowners in nearby Crystal City and throughout the surrounding region also call on us for insulation upgrades, and we are familiar with the property types that appear across this part of Zavala and Dimmit County.
